motorola vs infinet

Motorola's BH600 can do 300Mbps in 30MHz vs IW doing 300Mbps in 40MHz. What is IW's comments on Motorola's cliam to be more spectral effcient?

Motorola wins !

Time to make bets!

Motorola adopts an upper level modulation scheme (512FFT OFDM, while IW adopts a 256FFT OFDM). Of course the more subcarriers you use, the higher bit/Hz numbers you'll have. But you'll also need an absolutely optimal S/N ratio in order to achieve such a modulation scheme. This would mean that you can use Moto gears for shorter ranges and quite null interference environment. Moreover you should let pay your customer more than IW to have 10MHz less in spectrum width, which is good indeed to be read on papers, but as a matter of facts I doubt it's worth it. Stated that you must have a clean environment to let Moto work at its best, IW will work fine at a fraction of the cost: remember: IW gear is also a L3 device (router), while Moto is a simply L2 device (bridge).

ha..ha..ha.., good job andrea.

I also want to add that even if the same  in 300 Mbps, but the larger is IW in reality

:) :)
you mean IW can do higher net throughput (on ETH ports), so that it has a better bit/Hz ratio?
