Airspan & Fujitsu on WIMAX
Up to General DiscussionsFujitsu failed to meet the UQ's demand, and was replaced by NEC. Airspan was supposed to supply Fujitsu with software and baseband chip for mobile WiMAX to create the BroadOne WX300 (MacroMAXe); their joint effort to create WAVE 2 base stations, however, has been clearly unsuccessful so far. Fujitsu's BroadOne WX300 hasn't received the certification from the WiMAX forum, nor has Airspan's MacroMAXe.
As you well know, even Airspan's HiperMax, which has been claimed to be software-upgradeable to mobile WiMAX (Airspan doesn't mention WAVE 2 here), hasn't received the one, either.
